What does a Consultant do?

 

A Wedding and Event Consultant is the person responsible for making sure your wedding or event runs smoothly. Here at The Rose Of Sharon we offer a rang of services, from simply giving an excited bride or event host initial advice to coordinating the bridal couple’s entire wedding or the entire event for the host.

I would like to make all my own arrangements. Can I just get help getting started?

For the bride or event host who wants to make all of their own arrangements, but need help getting started our CONSULTATION ONLY service offers two sessions with the consultant for two – or three hours each time to discuss planning, coordinating, arranging and making choices for your Special Day or Event.  This service also offers referrals to vendors in your price range to help keep you within your budget.

For the bride or event host who wants to make all of their own arrangements, but wants plenty of guidance, our PLANNING AND COORDINATING service offers several sessions with the consultant to help you plan for some or all of your Wedding or Event depending on the need of the client.

I have made all my arrangements and confirmations of vendors. Will a consultant come out on the day of my wedding or event to oversee everything for me?

 

For the bridal couple or event host who wants to enjoy the festivities and have quality time with family and friends, our WEDDING-DAY DIRECTOR service offers a Wedding Day or Event Day Director who will be responsible for making sure all of the vendors fulfill their agreements with the bridal couple or event host and that all the services are coordinated as planned. The Director will also attend the rehearsal to coordinate the wedding party’s entrance and recessional and make sure the wedding program goes as planned if needed.

I don’t have lots of time to plan my wedding or event. I need someone to handle everything from beginning to end. What is included in this service?

 

For the bride or event host who does not have a lot of extra time to handle every little detail of your wedding or event, our COMPREHENSIVE SERVICE offers a full service consultant who will help you: Create and analyze your wedding or event budget, plan and design your wedding or event from start to finish, handle vendor meetings and confirmations for anything we don’t have in house for your wedding or event, coordinate wedding rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception and the set up for your special day or event, on-site coordination of employees and other vendors for your wedding or event, assistance to the bride and groom on wedding day and assistance to the host on event day, and assistance to the bridal party on wedding day.

How can I save on decorations? 

 

Don’t spend money on something that you may never use again, rent for half the price of purchasing. Room decorations and items such as vases, candles, stones, glass rocks, feathers, birds, butterflies, and more are available from our rent-all service for your themed wedding or event. You can also save on decorations if you are planning your wedding or event during the holidays. Most venues are already decorated for the holidays and won’t mind you using their decorations.  If you are using flowers think about using silk flowers with live greenery to save money.

What kind of decorations should I use?

 

The kind of decorations you use depends on the level of formality. There are four levels: Formal, Semi-formal, Informal, and Casual.  For a Formal or Semi-formal Level use such items as: Candelabras, Archway, Clamp On Pew Markers, Columns with or without lights, and netting or fabric draping for your ceremony site or grand event. Linen tablecloths with sheer layovers, linen napkins, glass place settings, customized centerpieces, chair covers if needed, lighted trees and bushes for your reception, banquet, or dinner. 

For Informal, and Casual Level use such items as: Greenery, Floral, and Candle arrangements in baskets or pots and bows for your ceremony or event site. For your reception you can use printed table linens with solid linen napkins, or printed napkins with solid table linens, simple centerpieces such as floating candles or balloons.  Just remember that your personality and style as a bridal couple should be reflected in your decorations. A Consultation Only session with one of our creative consultants will take all the stress out of this part of your wedding or event planning. A themed wedding or event is easier to decorate for because you use things that go along with your theme.

What way can I use flowers?  

    

F  Flowers can be used in many creative ways to decorate and set the mood for your wedding or event. Floral arrangements, centerpieces, which we will customize for your special day or event, bride and bridesmaid’s bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres, archway swags, and candelabra floral basket attachments

What kind of food should I serve? 

 

1.      The kind of food you serve for your reception or event will depend first of all on what sort or service you are looking for (On-Site Chef-the reception site chef, A Catering Company-professional caterers, Restaurants with a catering department, or a Do-It-Yourself Affair-family members willing to donate their services, also the time of day, time of year, mood, location of your wedding or event, expected number of guest, style and your taste.

1.      There will be many choices to make when it comes down to the final menu for your wedding or event. Our Catering dept. will help you make these choices with confidence that you and your guest will enjoy the food and drink.

What is the best way to capture the special moments?  

 

1.      A photo album will be a family heirloom, a gift for the future generations.  A video can be shared with family and friends for years to come.  Therefore we help our clients carefully choose the style and quality of the pictures and videos taken of their wedding or event.  We offer the traditional portraiture photographer, which creates formal, composed photographs (posed photographs), and the photojournalistic photographer, which captures images that are candid, unrehearsed and faithful to the event of the day. Our videography service offers the most popular kind of videotaping, the wedding documentary. This video includes highlights from the ceremony and reception or event, interviews with family and friends, and spontaneous shots, generally presented in the order of events. Special titles and music options are available.

What kind of cake should I have for my event? 

 

Our cake designer will be glad to help you with custom party cakes, anniversary birthday, and even cup cakes. Our designer will provide suggestions for flavor, style, decorations, icing and filling. Carrot, Lemon, German Chocolate, and Devil’s Food cakes are all popular choices today.

Can I give the DJ special music to play for my wedding reception? 

 

Music creates the mood of your wedding ceremony and reception. If it is elegant, lively, or whimsical ambiance mood you are looking for, our DJ has just what you and your guest want to hear and dance to. You can choose special songs to be played during the reception.
